This page lists what Gravel Calculator stores in your browser and why. It is the detail behind the notice you see on your first visit.
First party storage
Two values are stored locally by the site itself. Neither is a tracking cookie, and neither is sent to a server.
- theme: remembers whether you chose light, dark or system appearance.
- consent: remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics and advertising cookies, so you are not asked again.
Third party cookies
These are set only after you accept the notice. Declining keeps them disabled through Google Consent Mode.
- Analytics: Google Analytics measures which pages are used and how people arrive, including city level location and device detail. It records usage, not identity. When you accept, this data may also be used for ads personalisation; see the Privacy Policy for detail.
- Session recording: Microsoft Clarity sets cookies

_clck,_clsk) to recognise repeat visits and record how the site is used, for heatmaps and session playback. - Advertising: Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads. If you decline, ads may still appear but are not personalised to you.
Performance monitoring (no cookies)
Separately from the cookies above, we also run Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page load performance. It is a different tool from the Google Analytics listed under third party cookies, and it does not set a cookie, use local storage or store anything else in your browser, so it runs whether you accept or decline the notice. How to change your choice
Clear this site's data in your browser settings. The notice appears again on your next visit and your previous answer is discarded. You can also block cookies entirely in your browser; the site continues to work.
